Shooting at Technical College in Russia Leaves Five Injured

A shooting near an industrial technical college in Anapa, Krasnodar region, Russia, has left five people injured, including one in critical condition.

Students said the suspected gunman was a fellow student studying to become an auto mechanic, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

He was reportedly dressed in black and armed with a double-barreled 12-gauge TOZ-34 shotgun, carrying a tactical vest loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.

Witnesses said they heard five to six loud gunshots. Shortly after, students were instructed to lock themselves inside classrooms and barricade doors with desks and chairs.

Five people sustained injuries in the attack. One victim is in serious condition, while three others are reported to be in moderate condition. All were hospitalized at the city hospital in Anapa. Preliminary information suggests that a security guard at the college was among those seriously wounded.

The suspect, 18, was detained by officers of the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardiya). Emergency services remain at the scene as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
