Ukraine's Odesa Suffers Power Outages After Russian Attack

A Russian attack on Ukraine's Odesa city has caused damage to buildings and power outages in parts of the city.

Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, said the strike hit both infrastructure and residential buildings. In the Peresypskyi district, electricity is temporarily unavailable, though heating, water, and sewage systems are functioning normally, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

An operational headquarters has been set up to provide compensation and support through the state “eRecovery” program and the city budget. A warming center has also been opened for residents affected by the attack. Utility crews are boarding up broken windows and securing damaged structures.

Preliminary reports indicate two injuries, with one private house destroyed and four others sustaining varying damage.

The attack comes after a January 9 drone strike, when residents were warned to stay in safe locations as Russian forces targeted the city from the Black Sea.
