Azerbaijani Karate Athletes Win Six Medals at Tournament in Moldova

Karate athletes from the Deaflympics Committee of Azerbaijan delivered an outstanding performance at the Chisinau Karate Open Grand Prix international tournament, held in Chisinau, Moldova.

In the tournament, which brought together 287 athletes from various countries, Azerbaijani hearing-impaired fighters claimed a total of one gold, two silver, and three bronze medals in the "Senior Deaf" category, The Caspian Post reports.

Elnur Gasimzade triumphed in the 67 kg weight division, winning the gold medal. Hikmet Aghayev and Aliakbar Alizade clinched silver medals in the men’s 60 kg and 75 kg weight classes, respectively.

Shaig Osmanov (75 kg), Sahib Sahibli, and Elmin Huseynli (both 84 kg) earned bronze medals in the competition.
