Georgia hosted the European Strongman Championship for the first time in Tskaltubo, where about 100 athletes from 11 countries competed under traditional rules.
Georgian athletes won seven medals in the senior competition, including four gold, one silver and two bronze medals, The Caspian Post reports, citing Georgia Today.
The gold medal winners were Tornike Samkharadze (-90 kg), Lasha Jokhadze (-105 kg), Valiko Pipia (-120 kg) and Avtandil Karmazanashvili (+120 kg).
Nika Samkharadze won silver in the 80 kg category, while Jumber Naveriani (90 kg) and Chabuki Chigladze (+120 kg) claimed bronze medals.
