Kazakhstan’s Bublik Advances to Hong Kong Open Quarterfinals

Kazakhstan’s top tennis player and world No. 11, Alexander Bublik, secured a commanding victory at the ATP 250 tournament in Hong Kong.

After a first-round bye, Bublik faced world No. 77 Botic van de Zandschulp of the Netherlands in the second round, winning 6-3, 6-3 in just 1 hour and 11 minutes, The Caspian Post reports.

Bublik dominated on serve, firing 12 aces compared to his opponent’s eight, and converted two of three break-point opportunities to clinch the win.

In the quarterfinals, Bublik will face China’s Shang Juncheng, ranked No. 406. The Hong Kong Open hard-court event runs until January 11.
