Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan Foreign Ministers Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Tajikistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sirodjiddin Mukhriddin, is paying an official visit to Kyrgyzstan from June 30 to July 1, 2025, at the invitation of Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister, Jeenbek Kulubaev, The Caspian Post reports citing Kabar.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported that during the talks, a wide range of issues of Kyrgyz-Tajik cooperation were discussed in detail, including priority areas of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian dialogue. In this context, the importance of implementing the agreements following the state visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the Kyrgyz Republic in March of this year was noted.

The parties exchanged views on key issues on the international and regional agenda, discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including the UN, CIS, CSTO and other multilateral formats.

The ministers once again emphasized the historical significance of the signing of the Treaty on the State Border between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan. It was noted that the completion of the demarcation process will contribute to the formation of a solid foundation for sustainable peace, good neighborliness and regional stability.

A special emphasis was placed on the need to strengthen a trusting dialogue at the highest and high levels.

Particular attention was paid to preparations for the upcoming state visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov to Tajikistan this year.

Following the talks, the parties confirmed their mutual commitment to further deepening bilateral cooperation in the spirit of good neighborliness and mutual respect.
