Tajikistan’s fruit production surged in the first eleven months of 2025, reaching over 882,000 tons - 14.8 per cent above projections.
Apricots and apples remain the country’s dominant fruits, accounting for around 72 per cent of total production, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.
Apricot output soared to 348,000 tons, a 24.2 per cent increase from 2024, while apple production rose to 286,300 tons, up 17.2 per cent. Farmers contributed the largest share of both crops, with households and public enterprises also playing key roles.
Grapes also saw strong growth, reaching 326,000 tons, a 21.5 per cent increase over last year, exceeding forecasts. Farming households produced over half of the grapes, with the general population and public enterprises covering the rest.
Overall, Tajikistan’s gross agricultural output totaled 76.5 billion somonis ($8.324 billion) in January-November 2025, a 9.2 per cent rise compared to 2024. Crop production accounted for 53.2 billion somonis ($5.788 billion), while livestock contributed 23.3 billion somonis ($2.535 billion), highlighting the country’s steady growth in the agricultural sector.
