The government of Russia’s Sverdlovsk Region has proposed a partnership with Tajikistan, highlighting diverse, mutually beneficial cooperation during the second International Mining and Metallurgical Forum in Dushanbe.
Vyacheslav Yarin, Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of Sverdlovsk Region, stated that the regional business delegation visited Dushanbe to propose a range of projects, particularly in mining, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.
Discussions included mineral extraction and processing, geological exploration, production automation, and workforce training through educational programs jointly developed with Tajikistan.
Tajik officials were also invited to participate in the INNOPROM International Industrial Exhibition in Yekaterinburg from July 6-9, 2026.
The forum concluded with the signing of a memorandum to strengthen trade, economic, and scientific-technical cooperation between Sverdlovsk’s Ministry of International and Foreign Economic Relations and the “Business Center for CIS Economic Development” Association. The agreement, signed by Yarin and CEO of the Association Vadim Ganin in the presence of Tajik Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda, aims to deepen collaboration in economics, technology, and innovation.
