Tajikistan, Germany Exchange Expertise to Combat Counterfeit Money

A delegation from the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) visited the Bundesbank’s Munich branch to exchange expertise on cash circulation security, focusing on banknote quality control and the fight against counterfeit currency.

Led by NBT Chairman Firdavs Tolibzoda, the delegation reviewed modern cash-handling technologies, security systems, and procedures for safe cash transfers, The Caspian Post informs via Tajik media.

During the visit, Tolibzoda met with Reinhold Vollbracht, President of the Bundesbank’s Bavaria regional office, and Michelle Kreuzer, Director of the Munich branch. The discussions aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and facilitate knowledge exchange between the two central banks.

A central topic was combating counterfeit money. Bundesbank officials presented advanced operational technologies, including banknote security systems, counterfeit prevention measures, and secure cash transfer protocols. Emphasis was placed on maintaining the reliability of cash circulation and preventing fraud.

Tolibzoda praised the visit, noting the importance of the insights gained for improving NBT operations. “We highly value our cooperation with German colleagues and are confident that the experience gained will enhance our work, especially in regulating and monitoring cash circulation and ensuring its security,” he said.

The Bundesbank Munich branch leadership also underscored the role of international collaboration in sustaining financial system stability.

The visit concluded in a spirit of mutual understanding, with both sides expressing readiness to continue developing their partnership and sharing expertise in key areas of central banking.
