Tajikistan Strengthen Ties with UK to Enhance Higher Education Standards

Rectors from three leading Tajik universities have met in Dushanbe with representatives of the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) to discuss expanding cooperation and improving education quality standards.

Among those Tajik universities are the Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Ayni, the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship, and the Bokhtar State University named after Nosir Khusrav, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

The talks focused on expanding cooperation in education quality assurance, aligning Tajik educational standards with international benchmarks, and adopting advanced British practices in teaching and accreditation.

Nick Bailey, QAA’s Executive Director for Business Development and Talent Acquisition, highlighted the growing partnership between Dushanbe and London and reaffirmed QAA’s commitment to supporting joint initiatives that improve higher education quality in Tajikistan.

The QAA, an independent UK organization, plays a key role in evaluating and maintaining the academic quality and integrity of higher education institutions both in Britain and abroad.

Earlier, it was reported that a Chinese company expressed interest in building solar and wind power plants in Tajikistan - part of the country’s broader efforts to strengthen international partnerships across multiple sectors.
