Tajikistan, UN Start Talks on 2027–2030 Sustainable Plan

The United Nations in Tajikistan, together with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, have held a national consultation to discuss the development of a new Joint Framework Cooperation Program for Sustainable Development (JFCP) for 2027-2030.

Participants reviewed the UN Country Analysis, focusing on economic diversification, social development, food security, agriculture, environmental sustainability, effective governance, human rights, and social cohesion, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

Recommendations from partners were presented to guide the new framework.

Opening the meeting, Victor Olsavsky, Acting UN Resident Coordinator and WHO representative, thanked the ministry and development partners for their engagement. He highlighted that the consultation is a key step in shaping the new framework, aligning UN-Tajikistan cooperation with national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals, under the principle of “leaving no one behind.”

Ashurboy Solekhzoda, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, stressed that the consultation comes at a crucial time for Tajikistan’s strategic development. He noted that the new 2027-2030 framework will be fully aligned with the government’s medium-term development program for 2026-2030.

Partners were invited to submit recommendations on priorities and areas of cooperation with the UN, which will inform the final document guiding UN operations in Tajikistan over the next four years.
