Baherden Plant Sets New Standards for Turkmen Construction Sector

Eziz Doganlar H.J., a private economic society and member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, will act as a Gold Sponsor of the Turkmenistan Investment Forum (TIF 2025), scheduled for September 18-19, 2025, at the Conference Center of the Avaza Sports Complex, located in the Avaza resort area on the Caspian Sea coast.

The Forum, organized by the Ministry of Finance and Economy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, will bring together business leaders, government officials, and representatives of the international investment community to explore opportunities for economic development and strengthened cooperation, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

On March 12, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov inaugurated the Baherden Ceramic Products Plant in Baherden district, Ahal province - a landmark event for Turkmenistan’s rapidly growing economy. During the ceremony, the president highlighted the government’s focus on the consistent development of the industrial sector and construction industry, ensuring that locally produced construction materials remain competitive both domestically and internationally. The Baherden plant exemplifies these efforts, producing high-quality ceramic products from local raw materials that meet global standards.

The project was launched under Presidential Decree No. 2503, issued on November 16, 2021, mandating the construction of a facility for decorative ceramic tiles and sanitary ware in Baherden. Completed in under four years by Eziz Doganlar H.J., the plant immediately began supplying products for construction projects and consumer demand.

Occupying 30 hectares, the plant is designed to produce 3.3 million square meters of decorative ceramic tiles annually (split evenly between porcelain stoneware and ceramic floor tiles, and ceramic wall tiles) alongside 120,000 units of sanitary ware. The facility requires 135,000 tons of primarily local raw materials each year to sustain production.

Equipped with state-of-the-art machinery from SACMI Imola S.C., the plant operates in fully automated mode, utilizing robotic transporters, automated conveyors, information technologies, and artificial intelligence. The production process is certified by SACMI Imola Societa Cooperativa, confirming compliance with international engineering and production standards, and by Associazione Costruttori Italiani Macchine Attrezzature per Ceramica, which verifies the facility’s adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.

The plant’s high-tech laboratory conducts comprehensive physical and chemical tests, including assessments of weight, moisture, water absorption, strength, glazing quality, and additive content. With modern facilities and 455 employees, the Baherden Ceramic Products Plant stands as a testament to Turkmenistan’s commitment to industrial innovation, sustainable production, and economic growth.

The commissioning of this plant underscores Turkmenistan’s ongoing efforts to establish modern industrial enterprises that meet world standards, producing in-demand products for both domestic consumption and export markets.
