Energy, Trade, Innovation Top Agenda Ahead of Turkmen-Romanian Talks

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Romania Annamammet Annayev has held a productive meeting with Doru-Claudian Frunzulică, Vice President of the Romanian Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade, to discuss preparations for the 8th session of the Joint Turkmen-Romanian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, set to take place in Bucharest in autumn 2025.

The meeting highlighted both countries’ shared interest in deepening bilateral economic cooperation, with a focus on investments, trade, energy, transportation, and digital transformation, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.

Ambassador Annayev reiterated Turkmenistan’s commitment to economic modernization and compliance with global investment standards, while Mr. Frunzulică noted the country’s significant potential in energy-intensive sectors and emphasized Romania’s intent to broaden and diversify cooperation.

Turkmen officials invited Romanian companies to attend upcoming international exhibitions, business forums, and government tenders in Turkmenistan. In response, the Romanian side shared new investment project materials for Turkmen businesses exploring medium- and long-term ventures.

Both sides agreed that the upcoming Intergovernmental Commission meeting will serve as a key platform for building resilient and future-focused economic partnerships, reflecting the growing strategic alignment between Ashgabat and Bucharest.
