Putin Backs Ashgabat Declaration at Turkmenistan Peace Forum

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed support for the Ashgabat Declaration during his speech at the international forum in Turkmenistan.

The event commemorates the International Year of Peace and Trust, the International Day of Neutrality, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

Putin praised the Turkmen-drafted declaration as a key outcome of the forum, emphasizing Russia’s endorsement of its principles. He highlighted the importance of peacefulness, non-interference, and respect for nations’ rights to choose their own development paths, traditions, and religions, as outlined in the UN Charter.

The Russian president stressed that these principles are essential for the advancement of international relations and global stability.
