Putin Heads to Turkmenistan for International Peace Forum

Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Ashgabat, Turkmenistan on December 11-12 to take part in a forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust.

The Kremlin noted that during his trip, Putin will also hold several bilateral meetings with foreign leaders, highlighting growing diplomatic engagement in the region, The Caspian Post reports via the Russian president's website.

Russia and Turkmenistan maintain long-standing strategic relations built on energy cooperation, security dialogue, and regional stability. Turkmenistan is one of Russia’s key partners in Central Asia, with the two countries collaborating closely in natural gas, transport, and trade. They also coordinate within CIS, the Caspian Five, and other regional formats. Cultural and educational exchanges remain strong, supported by Russian-language institutions and joint humanitarian initiatives.
