As part of the growing collaboration between the International University for the Humanities and Development (IUHD) in Turkmenistan and Japan’s Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS), two IUHD students, Novruz Allanazarov and Aybolek Atayeva, have departed for Japan to study at TUFS for the upcoming academic year under the student exchange program.
The program is considered a major milestone in IUHD’s international relations strategy, The Caspian Post informs via Turkmen media.
It aims to foster cultural dialogue, deepen mutual understanding, and strengthen the bond between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Japan. For the students, it’s a chance to gain valuable international academic experience, broaden their knowledge, and serve as ambassadors of Turkmenistan’s cultural richness and educational achievements abroad.
Since its inception, the exchange initiative has enabled 11 IUHD students to study at TUFS, while IUHD has welcomed one Japanese student. These exchanges have played an important role in expanding educational cooperation, promoting intercultural understanding, and helping IUHD integrate further into the global academic community.
A foundational element of this partnership is the Global Japan Office, established at IUHD in 2016. The Office has become central to the promotion of the Japanese language on campus and has fueled broader academic and cultural cooperation between the two nations.
