Turkmenistan and Commerzbank AG Enter New Phase of Financial Cooperation

Murad Ozbekbayev, Consul of Turkmenistan in Germany, has met with Commerzbank AG’s Director and Senior Relationship Manager Andrey Kononov in Frankfurt to discuss the expansion of interbank cooperation between Turkmenistan and one of Germany’s leading financial institutions.

The two sides discussed cooperation, building on Commerzbank’s longstanding and productive relationship with financial institutions in Turkmenistan. Both parties emphasized the positive momentum in current bilateral engagements, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

Key topics included opportunities in export financing, project-related financial services, and the support of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Turkmenistan.

The officials also exchanged views on the potential for joint business events to be held in Frankfurt, aimed at opening new avenues for economic collaboration between the two countries.

Commerzbank AG, headquartered in Frankfurt, is one of Germany’s largest banks and a leading financial group in Europe. Its cooperation with Turkmen banks dates back to the mid-1990s, and since 2008, it has maintained a representative office in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
