Turkmenistan and Georgia Foreign Ministers Hold Talks on Strengthening Relations

On March 7, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, met with Maka Botchorishvili, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

Botchorishvili arrived in Ashgabat as part of a representative delegation led by the Georgian Prime Minister, according to the Foreign Ministry's report, The Caspian Post reports citing Akipress.

The parties emphasized the importance of contacts at high and the highest levels in promoting interstate relations, in particular the current visit of Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze to Turkmenistan.

The Ministers noted with satisfaction the active development of relations between the two countries both in a bilateral format and within international structures, primarily the UN. Joint events for the current year, declared upon the initiative of Turkmenistan as the International Year of Peace and Trust in accordance with the UN General Assembly resolution, were discussed.

The sides expressed their support for continued interaction between the Foreign Ministries of two countries through active dialogue and regular consultations at the level of heads of departments and heads of Ministries.

The Ministers signed the Program of Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia for 2025-2026.
