Turkmenistan has stepped up security measures in regions bordering Iran amid ongoing mass protests.
Authorities have introduced strict checks on vehicles and citizens in several areas and significantly restricted internet access, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Officials are reportedly concerned about the potential spillover of unrest from Iran and have developed a special response plan. Possible measures include further internet restrictions, increased population control in border zones, and preventive gatherings in educational institutions.
