A high-level Turkmen delegation traveled to Armenia to explore international best practices in IT park development, innovation ecosystems, and digital transformation.
The visit was organized by UNDP Turkmenistan, in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and supported by the Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF), The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.
Representatives from the Ministry of Education and the IT Park Sanly Çözgüt IT meýdança studied how Armenia built a competitive tech ecosystem, as Turkmenistan prepares a comprehensive roadmap to modernize its own national IT Park. The initiative aims to boost digital entrepreneurship, attract investment, and strengthen public-private partnerships.
Throughout the visit, the delegation met with Armenia’s leading tech and research institutions - including NVIDIA Armenia, the Microsoft Innovation Center, and the Cybersecurity Incubator at NPUA - gaining hands-on exposure to advanced technologies, cybersecurity approaches, and innovation models.
At the Philip Morris International R&D Center and the Matenadaran Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, they learned how research, technology, and cultural heritage can drive creative and scientific breakthroughs.
The group also toured Engineering City, exploring prototyping labs, museums, and Armenia’s National Supercomputing Center “Aznavour,” as well as EIF’s AI4ALL initiative, which highlighted the role of AI and high-performance computing in economic growth.
Meetings with Yerevan State University, ISTC, and regional hubs like the Gyumri Technology Center showcased how academic partnerships and decentralized tech ecosystems support nationwide digital development.
The delegation also visited leading creative and tech firms - including TUMO, Picsart, and Synopsys at Viasphere Technopark - to study talent development, startup scaling, and the creation of unicorn-level companies.
Insights gained during the visit will feed directly into Turkmenistan’s new IT Park roadmap, helping shape strategic priorities for investment, innovation, partnerships, and alignment with global digital transformation standards.
