Turkmenistan’s Gökdepe Tannery Boosts Eco-Friendly Leather Production in H1 2025

Gökdepe Tannery, one of Turkmenistan’s top producers of eco-friendly, high-quality leather, has reported a significant increase in production during the first half of 2025.

Over the six-month period, the factory produced goods valued at 9,793,413 manat ($5,760,831), surpassing last year’s output by 591,822 manat ($168,610), a growth rate of 106.43 per cent, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.

The factory’s state-of-the-art technological equipment enables efficient production processes and increased output of premium leather products. Raw materials include hides from cattle and small ruminants, all processed according to strict environmental standards.

Gökdepe produces leather in a range of colors and sizes, designed for manufacturing handbags, footwear, belts, winter apparel, and other products. Demand continues rising steadily, fueled by both private sector orders and growing domestic and international markets.

This growth reflects the coordinated efforts of skilled specialists and the strategic use of modern equipment. The factory’s team is also actively embracing innovation and working to enhance export capabilities.

At the recent Türkmentextile Expo 2025 in Ashgabat, Gökdepe showcased new eco-friendly leather products for the first time, drawing strong interest from visitors and industry professionals.
