Turkmenistan to Hold Military Parade to Mark 34th Independence Anniversary

Turkmenistan will mark the 34th anniversary of its independence with a military parade, as directed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The president has instructed the Minister of Defense to organize the event in honor of the national milestone, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.

The head of state held a regular meeting of the State Security Council, where the results of the work of the military and law enforcement agencies for the first half of 2025 were reviewed. Issues of ensuring the country's security, strengthening the material and technical base of security agencies and improving their activities were discussed.

Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defense Begench Gundogdyev reported on the implementation of the Program for the Development of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan and measures to strengthen defense capability. He also reported on the results of the spring conscription campaign and work to improve the conditions of service for military personnel.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of modernizing the Armed Forces in accordance with the defensive Military Doctrine of Turkmenistan. Particular attention was paid to preparations for the celebration of the 34th anniversary of independence.

The head of state instructed the Secretary of the State Security Council and the Minister of Defense to take measures to hold a ceremonial military parade at a high level.
