The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Council of Heads of Government has held its regular session in Minsk, Belarus, where Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov represented Turkmenistan in discussions aimed at strengthening regional cooperation.
The meeting’s agenda covered 15 key issues focused on strengthening economic integration and advancing digital transformation across the CIS. Several adopted documents were of particular strategic importance for Turkmenistan, The Caspian Post informs via Turkmen media.
Among them was the Digitalization Strategy for Main Multimodal Transport Corridors, which aligns with Turkmenistan’s priorities of enhancing logistical efficiency, optimizing transit procedures, and improving cargo flow across vital East-West and North-South routes.
Also endorsed was the Action Plan for the Second Phase of the CIS Economic Development Strategy to 2030, which aims to expand industrial cooperation and investment partnerships while promoting the digitalization of national economies.
Further agreements included the CIS Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development until 2035 and the Concept for Cooperation on the Development of the Information Society and Digital Economy, both designed to foster innovation and support long-term technological growth.
Other notable documents included the Concept for Pricing in Construction Activities, intended to harmonize construction cost standards, and an Agreement on Preventing the Spread of Locust Pests, which addresses shared ecological and agricultural risks in the region.
In a significant announcement, Turkmenistan was confirmed as the host of the next CIS Council of Heads of State meeting, scheduled for the first half of 2026. This decision reflects Ashgabat’s growing role as a central platform for high-level dialogue and regional integration within the CIS framework.
