Chinese Company to Launch Tomato Processing Production in Uzbekistan

A Chinese company is set to launch large-scale tomato processing production in Andijan Region, marking another major step in growing industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.

Under the new project, tomato paste, ketchup, juices and other tomato-based products will be manufactured for export markets, The Caspian Post reports via Sputnik Uzbekistan.

Around 3,000 hectares of land will be planted with tomatoes, with expected yields reaching 150 tons per hectare.

As part of the initiative, the Chinese side will also build a modern processing and manufacturing complex dedicated to tomato products in the region.

According to the regional administration, all finished products are planned for export, highlighting Uzbekistan’s ambitions to expand value-added agricultural production and strengthen its position in international food markets.
