Montenegro's government has announced the suspension of the temporary visa-free regime for nationals of Uzbekistan, Armenia, and Egypt.
This change is part of Montenegro’s ongoing efforts to align its visa policies with EU standards, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.
The new regulation, effective immediately, is implemented under the framework of the 2024-2027 Reform Agenda and complies with Chapter 24 of the EU accession process, which governs visa policy and migration management.
Montenegro’s decision reflects its strong commitment to fully harmonizing its visa regulations with those of the EU, as the country advances toward full membership in the Union.
Under the updated rules, citizens of Uzbekistan, along with those from Armenia and Egypt, will be required to obtain a visa prior to entering Montenegro.
Officials stress that the move is designed to strengthen border security and streamline the country’s alignment with EU policies, while continuing to facilitate safe and legal travel.
