SOCAR, Uzbekneftegaz Partner to Drive AI Innovation in Oil and Gas

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and Uzbekistan’s Uzbekneftegaz have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand cooperation in applying artificial intelligence (AI) technologies within the oil and gas sector.

The agreement will see the two companies share expertise and personnel, implement AI solutions developed by SOCAR, and accelerate the digital transformation and efficiency of production processes, The Caspian Post informs via SOCAR.

The partnership also includes IT consulting and the full digitalization of operational workflows.

Key joint projects will leverage AI to optimize diesel fuel production, deploy Large Language Models (LLMs) to support operational teams, and use Seismic AI and ENOM technologies for automated analysis of geological and energy data. SOCAR will additionally provide guidance on ODLAR and Daily Drilling initiatives, creating a unified data architecture for comprehensive digitalization and visualization of seismic and drilling information.

The collaboration is expected to advance AI adoption in the oil and gas industry, foster innovation in energy production, and strengthen economic and technological ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
