The International Tourism Academy has recently hosted a press tour for representatives of national and international media, showcasing its programs, facilities, and international initiatives in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand city.
Journalists toured the Academy’s modern classrooms, specialized laboratories, library, and multimedia rooms, designed to train highly skilled professionals in hotel and restaurant management, tour guiding, and tourism management, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
They also learned about the university’s history and its comprehensive educational programs.
A key part of the event highlighted the Academy’s global collaborations, including participation in international tourism forums, student exchange programs, and joint research projects with foreign universities. Academy leadership noted that instruction is offered in Uzbek, Russian, and English, with faculty from top tourism schools worldwide.
Students shared their experience completing internships at hotels, travel agencies, and cultural-historical sites in Samarkand, giving journalists insight into the Academy’s practical training approach.
Firuz Zokhidov, Associate Professor at the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, emphasized the academy’s focus on blending theory with practice:
"We aim not only to teach students theoretical disciplines but also to immerse them in real-world practical environments. This allows future professionals to adapt to the demands of the modern labor market even during their studies."
The academy representatives also announced plans to expand international cooperation, implement modern educational technologies, and further develop research initiatives in tourism in the coming years.
