Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, has met with French Ambassador to Uzbekistan Walid Fouque to review the current state and future prospects of Uzbek-French cooperation.
The discussions focused on boosting joint investment projects and strengthening trade and economic ties, with a special emphasis on expanding collaboration in energy, industry, transport, and tourism, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.
Trade between Uzbekistan and France surged to $991.2 million from January to August 2025, an 18.5 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. This growth was fueled by increased cooperation in mechanical engineering, chemical, textile, and pharmaceutical sectors, along with greater imports of advanced equipment and technologies from French companies supporting Uzbekistan’s industrial development.
The meeting also underscored the importance of effectively implementing approved “roadmaps” and turning agreements from recent high-level visits into concrete outcomes. Kudratov reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with France and expressed optimism about expanding mutually beneficial cooperation ahead of the upcoming Intergovernmental Commission meeting and joint business forum.
