Türkiye, Uzbekistan Discuss Strengthening Migration Cooperation in Ankara

Officials from Türkiye and Uzbekistan have met in Ankara to explore ways to deepen bilateral cooperation on migration and consular issues.

The meeting involved Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Musa Kulaklıkaya and his Uzbek counterpart Olimjon Abdullaev, who focused on enhancing collaboration, sharing best practices, and addressing mutual migration challenges, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

Türkiye and Uzbekistan share historical and cultural ties as part of the Turkic world. Diplomatic relations were formally established in 1992, shortly after Uzbekistan gained independence. Since then, the two countries have developed strong bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, education, culture, and security. Türkiye is a key partner for Uzbekistan in supporting economic reforms and infrastructure development, while both countries actively participate in regional initiatives to strengthen political and economic ties in Central Asia.
