A vibrant gala at the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages has brought Uzbek Language Day to life in Turkmenistan.
Organized with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan, the event highlighted the deep cultural and spiritual ties between the two nations, The Caspian Post informs via Turkmen media.
Diplomats from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye attended alongside students and faculty, celebrating the shared roots of Turkmen and Uzbek languages. Rector Maksat Chariyev and Uzbek Ambassador Ravshanbek Alimov praised the role of native language in preserving national identity and fostering unity.
Students recited poetry from legendary Uzbek and Turkmen poets, while lively song and dance performances filled the hall, turning the event into a joyful expression of cultural harmony. Ambassador Alimov said, "Today you have once again proven that the Uzbek and Turkmen languages embody the beauty, closeness, and spiritual strength that unites peoples."
To mark the occasion, the Uzbek Embassy gifted a five-volume Explanatory Dictionary of the Uzbek Language to the Institute, and outstanding participants received commemorative awards.
The celebration not only honored language but also reinforced the enduring friendship and cultural bridge between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
