Today, October 24, schools across Kyrgyzstan are marking the 80th anniversary of the United Nations with themed lessons and special events.
Pupils are learning about the UN’s role in peacekeeping, international cooperation, human rights, and Kyrgyzstan’s contributions to the global organization, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
At Secondary School No. 100 in Bishkek, a session was held with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov and UN Resident Coordinator in Kyrgyzstan Antje Grawe.
Speaking to pupils, Baisalov highlighted the importance of understanding the UN’s mission:
"UN Day is celebrated in all schools because schoolchildren in Kyrgyzstan should know about the United Nations and be proud that our country is a full member. Each of us-children and adults-is responsible for preserving the environment, respecting human rights, and strengthening peace on our planet."
The event featured creative presentations, posters, and pupil projects, showcasing the UN’s significance for peace and the future of youth.
