Ukraine’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mykola Doroshenko, has officially concluded his diplomatic mission, following a decree signed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as part of a routine rotation of the diplomatic corps.
To mark the end of his assignment in Tashkent, Ambassador Doroshenko issued a farewell statement, highlighting the significance of his role and the challenges faced during his tenure, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
“It was the highest form of trust bestowed upon me by the leadership and people of my country, and I did everything in my power to live up to it,” Doroshenko wrote. “With full dedication and energy, I worked to strengthen cooperation between Ukraine and Uzbekistan in every possible area.”
The ambassador also reflected on the difficult historical moment during which he served, noting that he represented Ukraine at a time of ongoing war.
“Eleven years ago, my country was subjected to a treacherous attack. My duty was to speak the truth, inform the Uzbek public about what Ukraine is going through, and explain the reasons behind the sacrifices made by our sons and daughters.”
In his message, Doroshenko expressed sincere gratitude to the people of Uzbekistan for their support, friendship, and willingness to work with Ukraine in various fields.
Meanwhile, on the same day, President Zelenskyy signed decrees appointing 16 new ambassadors to foreign states and international organizations. However, as of July 22, no official presidential decree regarding the appointment of a new ambassador to Uzbekistan has been published on Ukraine’s presidential website.
