Uzbek athletes and their coaches who achieved outstanding results at recent world championships in boxing, weightlifting, and canoe/kayak racing have been celebrated with prestigious presidential awards.
Gold medalists received cash prizes of $15,000, while silver and bronze medalists were awarded $7,500 and $3,750 respectively. Coaches were also recognized with one-time bonuses equivalent to half of their athletes’ prize amounts, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
In addition to the financial rewards, gold medal winners were presented with keys to BYD Song Plus Champion cars. Silver and bronze medalists were gifted BYD Chazor vehicles as a token of appreciation for their achievements.
Weightlifter Ruslan Nurudinov made headlines by setting a new personal world record and capturing his third world championship title at the competition held in Bahrain.
At the Canoe and Kayak World Championship in Milan, Artur Guliyev secured a gold medal, showcasing Uzbekistan’s strength in water sports.
Uzbekistan’s national boxing team also delivered a stellar performance at the World Championship in Liverpool, UK, earning a total of 11 medals, including six gold, two silver, and three bronze.
