Uzbekistan Airways has finalized a deal to convert its options for eight additional Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners into firm orders, further expanding its fleet.
This new agreement brings the airline’s total order of 787-9s to 22 aircraft, supporting its long-term strategy to enhance international connectivity and expand its global route network, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
The new wide-body aircraft, known for their high efficiency and long-range capabilities, will allow Uzbekistan Airways to accelerate the growth of its global network. The 787-9 platform offers improved operational efficiency, flexibility, and capacity for long-haul routes, reinforcing the airline’s competitiveness in the international market.
The signing ceremony took place in Washington during the C5+1 summit. Attendees included U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Qudratov.
