Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are looking to further strengthen their allied relations, with trade, investment, transport and logistics cooperation high on the agenda.

Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov received copies of the credentials of Azerbaijan’s newly appointed Ambassador to Uzbekistan Rashad Mammadov, The Caspian Post reports via the Uzbek foreign minister's message on X.

During the meeting, the sides discussed maintaining the strong momentum of political dialogue while expanding trade, economic and investment ties.

They also highlighted opportunities to advance joint projects in transport and logistics, areas that are becoming increasingly important to connectivity between Central Asia and the South Caucasus.

Saidov expressed confidence that Mammadov’s extensive diplomatic experience would contribute to further strengthening Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan allied relations and bringing new practical results to bilateral cooperation.

Mammadov was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan on July 24 by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Mammadov previously served as Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Türkiye.
