Uzbekistan is stepping up its engagement in the international transport and logistics arena through a recent working visit by Abdusamat Muminov, Director General of Temiryulkargo company, and Chief Advisor A.S. Kamalov to Azerbaijan and Georgia.
In Baku, the delegation conducted constructive meetings with Igbal Huseynov, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) company, and Azad Gasimov, Director of ADY Express, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The discussions centered on expanding Uzbekistan’s export-import cargo flows along the strategic Middle Corridor, increasing freight volumes, and securing additional logistics capacities. The parties reached important agreements to foster deeper cooperation.
During their visit to Georgia, the Uzbek team met with David Samkharashvili, Head of Department at Georgian Railway company, in Tbilisi and Batumi. Talks focused on enhancing freight shipments via the ports of Poti and Batumi, and improving transport along the Georgia-Akhalkalaki-Kars route. They also explored ways to boost wagon clearance efficiency and facilitate shared use of rolling stock.
While touring the Batumi railway station and port facilities, the delegation proposed initiatives to speed up loading and unloading, streamline logistics processes, shorten turnaround times, and raise service standards.
