Uzbekistan is bolstering its pharmaceutical collaboration with China following high-level talks between Director of the Uzbek Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency, Abdulla Azizov, and a visiting Chinese delegation comprised of top representatives from major pharmaceutical and industrial companies.
The Chinese delegation was headed by Liu Yu, Chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce in Uzbekistan, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
During the meeting, Uzbek officials showcased the Tashkent Pharma Park, an ambitious innovation-driven pharmaceutical cluster aimed at advancing domestic manufacturing and research. The presentation highlighted the park’s advanced infrastructure, favorable investment environment, and a range of state-backed incentives for cluster participants.
Discussions focused on the potential for joint ventures in high-demand medical areas such as oncology, cardiology, and cosmetology. Both sides also explored the possibility of hosting a virtual business forum with participation from around 60 leading Chinese pharmaceutical companies to exchange trade data and pinpoint strategic directions for future cooperation.
Concluding the talks, both parties affirmed their commitment to ongoing dialogue, information exchange, and a shared roadmap to deepen investment and industrial partnerships in the pharmaceutical field.
