Uzbekistan has delivered a spectacular performance at the third Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, securing 16 medals within just one day: 5 gold, 5 silver, and 6 bronze.
Weightlifter Munisbek Davletov shone brightest, winning two gold medals in the under-88 kg category for both the snatch and clean and jerk events, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Other gold medal winners included Dilafruz Boltaboeva (judo, under 40 kg), Abubakr Sattorov (judo, under 55 kg), and Bunyod Rufatov (freestyle wrestling, under 80 kg).
Silver medals went to Alina Kolyuchyova (judo, under 44 kg), Davlat Akhrorov (judo, under 60 kg), Shakhobiddin Nurmanov (freestyle wrestling, under 48 kg), Shokhista Shonazarova (freestyle wrestling, under 43 kg), and Shakhnoza Khaydarova (weightlifting, under 69 kg, snatch).
Bronze medalists included Shokhzhan Usmonov (judo, under 50 kg), Zukhra Alimova (judo, under 52 kg), Abdumalik Jaloldinov (freestyle wrestling, under 55 kg), Shokhiddin Aliev (freestyle wrestling, under 65 kg), Dilnura Avezova (freestyle wrestling, under 57 kg), and Mukhayyo Rakhimjonova (freestyle wrestling, under 69 kg).
