Uzbekistan’s Presidential Representative to the World Trade Organization and chief negotiator Azizbek Urunov has announced that Uzbekistan signed a protocol on bilateral market access negotiations with Ecuador.
The signing ceremony was attended by Ecuador’s Ambassador José Valencia and Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Policy César Sánchez Icaza. Ecuador is Uzbekistan’s second-largest trading partner in South America, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The agreement lays a solid foundation for further constructive development of trade and economic relations between Central Asia and South America and will play a key role in Uzbekistan’s accession process to the World Trade Organization.
Urunov thanked Ecuador for its active participation in the talks and achieving a timely, mutually beneficial outcome, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral trade cooperation and integration into multilateral trade systems.
