Uzbekistan Emerges as Top Choice for Female Tourists

Between January and July 2025, Uzbekistan welcomed 2.9 million foreign women traveling for tourism purposes.

Women made up 45.5 per cent of all international tourists visiting the country during this period, reflecting a strong upward trend in female mobility across the region, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The number of female tourists grew by 696,700 compared to the same period in 2024, marking an impressive 31.9 per cent year-on-year increase.

The majority of visitors came from Uzbekistan’s neighboring countries:

Kyrgyzstan: 959,100 tourists (33.3 per cent)

Kazakhstan: 781,700 (27.2 per cent)

Tajikistan: 595,500 (20.7 per cent)

In addition, 246,000 female travelers arrived from Russia (8.5 per cent), while 295,300 women (10.3 per cent) came from other countries.

Officials and tourism experts say the steady rise in female arrivals reflects Uzbekistan’s growing reputation as a safe, culturally rich, and accessible destination, particularly for women. The increase also underscores broader trends in regional mobility and cross-border travel driven by improved infrastructure, visa liberalization, and targeted tourism campaigns.
