Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan Pilot New Freight Corridor with China

A new regional transport link has officially come to life as the first container train on the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan route departed from Lanzhou station bound for Dushanbe-2.

The train will travel more than 3,500 kilometers in 18-20 days, marking a significant milestone in strengthening Central Asia’s multimodal transport corridors and boosting cross-border trade, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

Joint Logistics Project

The project was implemented by UTK International Logistics Co., Ltd, a joint venture established in China with the participation of Uztemiryulkonteyner. The Uzbek company played a key co-founding role and coordinated the transportation process.

The train consists of eight 40-foot containers loaded with consumer goods and construction equipment, underscoring the route’s practical commercial focus.

Follow-Up to 2025 Agreements

The launch of the route builds on agreements reached in 2025 during a meeting of the leaders of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan in Dushanbe. The new corridor is expected to enhance regional connectivity and diversify logistics channels across Central Asia.

For Uztemiryulkonteyner, participation in the project represents an expansion of logistics capabilities, a stronger foothold in international markets, and further development of multimodal transport infrastructure in the region.
