Uzbekistan Expands Agricultural Cooperation

Uzbekistan has officially joined the Statute of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, strengthening its role in international efforts to boost food security and sustainable agriculture across the Islamic world.

The accession document was signed in Baku by Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, marking a significant step in expanding the country’s multilateral agricultural partnerships, The Caspian Post reports via UzA.

The move is expected to deepen cooperation among member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in areas including food production, agricultural innovation and sustainable resource management.

The Islamic Organization for Food Security works to unite member countries in addressing rising global food challenges by sharing agricultural expertise, promoting investment and advancing modern farming technologies.

Uzbekistan’s participation is also expected to support joint initiatives tackling climate change, desertification, soil degradation and food shortages - issues that are becoming increasingly urgent across many regions.
