Uzbekistan, Georgia Sign Wide-Ranging Deals on Trade, Technology and Education

Uzbekistan and Georgia have officially established a strategic partnership, signing a landmark declaration following talks between Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in Tbilisi.

The sides also oversaw the exchange of a broad package of bilateral agreements aimed at expanding cooperation across key sectors, The Caspian Post reports via the Uzbek president's press service.

Among the signed documents were agreements on customs cooperation and administrative assistance, information and communication technologies, digitalization, vocational and higher education, as well as science and innovation.

The two countries also approved an intergovernmental cooperation program for 2026-2027 and a cultural cooperation roadmap between their ministries of culture for 2027-2030.

In addition, the sides signed a series of memorandums covering economic and financial cooperation, agriculture, healthcare, environmental protection, tourism, labor migration, radiation protection, and nuclear safety. One agreement focuses on introducing the E-Permit electronic permit exchange system to streamline cross-border transport procedures.

The visit also resulted in a cooperation memorandum between Uzbekistan's Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement under the Prosecutor General's Office and Georgia's National Bureau of Enforcement under the Ministry of Justice, further strengthening legal and institutional ties between the two countries.
