Uzbekistan Grants U.S. Citizens 30-Day Visa-Free Entry

Uzbekistan will introduce a 30-day visa-free entry regime for citizens of the United States starting January 1, 2026, under a presidential decree.

The decree, signed on November 3, 2025, introduces a 30-day visa-free regime for U.S. nationals entering Uzbekistan, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kun.uz.

According to the document, U.S. citizens will be permitted to remain in the country without a visa for up to 30 days from the date of entry.

The measure is aimed at creating more favorable conditions for the development of Uzbek-American relations, including trade and economic cooperation, cultural and humanitarian ties, and tourism.

The decree also amends several previously adopted documents concerning U.S. citizens. In particular, certain provisions of a 2016 decree were removed, while one clause of a 2018 resolution was declared invalid.

While the visa-free regime eliminates the need to obtain a visa, it does not exempt travelers from complying with migration regulations. In particular, registration at the place of temporary residence - typically arranged through a hotel - must be completed within the established timeframe.
