Uzbek Minister of Agriculture Ibrohim Abdurahmonov has met with Kyrgyz Deputy Minister Asel Kenenbaeva on the sidelines of the Central Asian Agriculture Ministers’ Conference in Tashkent to discuss bilateral cooperation, assess joint projects, and explore new areas for collaboration.
Both parties highlighted the importance of the rational use of water and land resources, sharing best practices in potato cultivation, improving seed production and storage systems, and developing livestock breeding programs, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Special attention was given to the digital transformation of agriculture. Kyrgyz representatives praised Uzbekistan’s progress in agricultural digitalization, particularly through the Agroplatforma and Agrosug‘urta systems, and expressed interest in applying these technologies in Kyrgyzstan.
The ministers agreed to strengthen cooperation between research institutions, launch exchange programs for young specialists, modernize agricultural education, and enhance the work of joint task forces to advance existing projects.
At the end of the meeting, Abdurahmonov and Kenenbaeva emphasized that closer agricultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will play a key role in ensuring sustainable regional development and agreed on specific steps to translate joint initiatives into action.
