Uzbekistan Launches Bold Media Collaboration Initiatives with Azerbaijan

Dilshod Saidjanov, Head of the Communications Department at the Uzbek Presidential Administration, has said that Uzbekistan is moving forward with several initiatives to strengthen media collaboration with Azerbaijan.

Saidjanov made these remarks during the second Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Media Forum in Baku, The Caspian Post informs via local media.

Key proposals include the joint production of TV series, documentaries, and multimedia projects focused on the shared culture, history, and notable figures of Turkic peoples. Additionally, the countries aim to exchange educational programs designed to enhance media literacy and to develop a shared artificial intelligence platform for automated translation and content creation.

“Azerbaijan has set a strong example in recent years, and we are keen to learn from their experience while contributing our own expertise to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of both nations. The content created will be broadcast in Uzbekistan,” Saidjanov stated.

He also noted that the Media Development Agency of the Azerbaijan Republic and Uzbekistan’s Content Production Center for Mass Media under the Presidential Administration are preparing to sign a memorandum of cooperation, marking a new chapter in bilateral media relations.

Saidjanov highlighted that this memorandum will replace earlier cooperation frameworks, offering a more robust platform to enhance collaboration between the two countries' media sectors.

“We anticipate achieving even greater success, with journalists and media professionals from both nations working closely together,” he stated, underscoring the potential for deepened partnership and shared growth in the media landscape.

He also highlighted that Azerbaijan’s media expertise is playing a key role in advancing media development in Uzbekistan.

Saidjanov emphasized the value of Azerbaijan’s experience, noting that years of collaboration have fostered mutual understanding between the two nations.

“There is always room for improvement. Your experience was gained under challenging conditions, yet you overcame them and achieved success,” he said. “Your media possesses unique expertise that we have yet to develop. The practical skills you have acquired, your ability to create high-quality content and broadcast it globally, are especially important to us.”

Highlighting the strategic importance of media growth, Saidjanov added that strengthening national media and producing competitive content are essential for thriving in today’s dynamic information environment.
