Uzbekistan Launches Talks with EU to Simplify Visas

Uzbekistan has launched talks with the European Commission to simplify visas for its citizens.

The first stage of consultations was held with experts from the Directorate-General for Home Affairs and Migration, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

According to the Foreign Ministry's Consular and Legal Department, discussions focused on easing visa procedures for Uzbeks traveling to EU countries for work, study, professional driving, and organized tourism.

The European side outlined several conditions that must be met before visa simplification proposals can move forward within the European Commission. Both sides agreed to continue consultations in the same format to speed up progress and achieve practical outcomes.
