Uzbekistan Opens Market to Kyrgyz Honey in New Agreement

A Kyrgyz company, Medovaya Artel, is entering the Uzbek market with state support, marking a new step in expanding the country’s agricultural exports.

The company has received comprehensive assistance, including help in registering a legal entity, business consultations, and guidance on adapting to local regulations and market requirements, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

On April 9, a lease agreement for retail space was signed in Food City Tashkent with support from the trade office. The move will allow retail sales and promotion of Kyrgyz honey directly in the Uzbek market.

Initial export shipments are expected soon, totaling around 4 tons of natural honey.

Officials say the project will help strengthen Kyrgyzstan’s export potential while deepening trade and economic cooperation with Uzbekistan.

Kyrgyzstan has been steadily increasing honey exports in recent years. In 2025, exports reached about 540 tons, up from roughly 439 tons the previous year.

Major buyers include China, countries in the Middle East, and Central Asia, highlighting growing international demand for Kyrgyz natural honey.
