Uzbekistan is advancing efforts to deepen textile sector cooperation with Pakistan, following a high-level meeting between the Uztextileprom Association and Al-Rahim Textile Industries, a leading Pakistani yarn and textile manufacturer.
The official talks, hosted at the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry, focused on expanding bilateral trade, launching joint investment initiatives, and facilitating technology exchange across the textile value chain, The Caspian Post reports per Uzbek media.
Uztextileprom representatives provided a detailed presentation on Uzbekistan’s textile manufacturing strengths, including access to high-quality raw cotton, competitive labor costs, expanding production infrastructure, and strong government incentives for foreign investors.
The Pakistani side expressed strong commercial interest, highlighting Uzbekistan’s position as a fast-growing textile hub in Central Asia. Rahim Embroidery executives confirmed their intent to pursue joint ventures and support the transfer of advanced production technologies to Uzbekistan.
Both parties identified several priority areas for collaboration, including:
The co-development of high-value textile products,
Integration into global supply chains, and
Long-term cooperation on sustainable textile practices.
Stakeholders emphasized that these efforts represent an important step toward building a strategic Uzbekistan-Pakistan textile partnership, which would strengthen economic ties and enhance both countries' positions as regional leaders in textile manufacturing and exports.
