Uzbekistan's President Backs Plans to Expand Partnership with Petronas

As part of his business program in Kuala Lumpur, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim jointly visited the headquarters of Petronas - the iconic Twin Towers - and held a meeting with the company’s President, Muhammad Taufik.

Discussions focused on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with Petronas, a global leader in the oil and gas industry, petrochemicals, and renewable energy, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed strong support for prospective projects in advanced raw material processing and green energy development.

Key priorities include conducting geological exploration and developing promising hydrocarbon fields, implementing cutting-edge technologies for carbon capture and storage, and training highly qualified specialists based on the academic programs of Petronas University.
